Job Description:Assist in planning and implementing weekly programs and events for adults with developmental disabilities for club meetings. Duties include, but are not limited to: developing and leading a variety of group activities and special events; maintaining group book attendance logs; maintaining progress notes on assigned members; maintaining group supplies and cleanliness of activity area; participating as a team member to plan client assistance and care and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in recreation/education or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree, OR Associate’s degree and 2 years experience teaching or conducting appropriate therapeutic activities is an acceptable alternative. Experience working with diverse populations. Ability to teach a variety of coping skills. Creativity in the arts. Flexibility when plans are changed. Well developed organizational, verbal, and written communication skills needed. Experience with Microsoft Word and databases a plus. Demonstrated ability in group leadership. Valid driver’s license. COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
Schedule:Thursday evenings, 4.5 hours/week
