Job description:The Administrative Assistant II welcomes visitors to Cornell Cooperative Extension, assists people on the phone and performs a myriad of administrative tasks. These include providing basic information on programs and events; maintaining databases; handling email correspondence and minute-taking; assisting in preparation of reports; managing data collection, compilation and reporting; preparing regular deposits; ordering supplies and materials and in general working with program staff to provide general office support as necessary. Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent education. • Experience relevant to the position. • Ability to meet travel requirements (run local errands). • Ability to meet acceptable background and motor vehicle check. • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evening and/or weekends on occasion
Skills:• Proficiency in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel. Understanding of basic bookkeeping practices. • Ability to plan and organize personal work responsibilities according to priorities developed with the Executive Director. • Ability to communicate effectively through speaking and writing. • Ability to relate effectively to co-workers, volunteers, community and professional leaders and members of the public. • Ability and willingness to work with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity.
