| Job description: | The Alzheimer’s Caregiver Specialist will implement the various aspects of the program work plan in accordance with the identified tasks and contract deliverables. The Caregiver Specialist will provide services to Rockland County residents sixty years and over suspected of having Alzheimer’s and other related dementias and their caregivers. This role will seek to decrease caregiver stress and convey information about available resources to the community. This position requires a leader - bilingual in Spanish and English with strong program management, community engagement, and experience working with older adults with limited English proficiency. The scope of services will include the provision of caregiver support groups, public outreach and media presentations, dissemination of Information, and care coordination. |
| Qualifications: | MSW strongly preferred or related licensed and/or credentialed professional trained to facilitate individual and group sessions is preferred. • Bachelor’s Degree with at least one year of experience in the social service field preferably within the older adult population. • Associates degree with two years of experience in the social service field preferably within the older adult population. |
| Certifications: | Licensed and/or credentialed professional trained to facilitate individual and group sessions. |
| Skills: | • Daily travel to various Rockland County locations for the purpose of community outreach and client engagement. • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. • Capable of optimizing time and efficiency working independently. • Ability to communicate effectively with community agencies, and clients with diverse opinions, values and culture. |
