Who We Are: Founded by a small group of dedicated parents in 1954 as the first non-profit organization of its kind in Rockland County, Today, The Arc Rockland provides supports and services to more than 1,200 children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
|POSITION SUMMARY:||Reports directly to the Manager, Accounting and, under general direction, works independently to maintain comprehensive accounting records and helps in the preparation of financial statements and reports. Performs bookkeeping functions with a high degree of accuracy and understanding of basic accounting principles.|
|POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:||Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3 or more years of experience, or HS diploma with seven or more years of related experience.|
|ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS||• Performs bank reconciliations • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions, recording daily transactions in a consistent way • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries • Maintains historical records by filing documents • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends • Assists with month end closing entries • Reports weekly banking activities • Assists with Monthly SNAP Benefit processing • Assists with processing bank deposits • Assists during annual audits • Adheres to accounting policies and procedures|
