Job Description: | The Chief Program Officer (CPO) will provide executive administration to agency programs, such Developmental Disabilities programs, Community Based Services, and Foster Care as well as other related administrative areas. The Chief Program Officer reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer. This position assists the President and Chief Executive Officer with assuring efficient program operations and compliance, developing grant opportunities, and overseeing managed care initiatives. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: | • Assure assigned programs are in compliance with Local, State and Federal regulatory agencies. • Provide administrative and program supervision of assigned senior program management staff • Implement and standardize staff supervision protocol and administrative standards throughout programs. • Direct program staff in the development, adhering to and monitoring of program budgets and financial related activities • Monitor management’s compliance of adherence to staff schedules and overtime • Develop and hold management accountable for systems of administrative compliance • Assure programs are meeting program and administrative deadlines • Work with senior management on Human Resources protocol and union related activities • Oversee and expand on implementation of internal program accountability standards • Monitor after hour activities and crisis events • Work with senior management staff in preparing programs for managed care activities • Prepare monthly program reports indicating key areas of program and staff compliance • Represent programs at local and state meetings and conferences • Work with President and Chief Executive Officer in developing and expanding program initiatives and grant opportunities • Monitor program strategic planning goals NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES Work cross collaboratively with other members of the Senior and Executive Management team to make sure that designated programs work seamlessly to provide a strong vision for the agency Support all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies Provide leadership in developing and overseeing organizational policies and procedures Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports Assume such other duties appropriate to the position as may be assigned |
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Skills, Knowledge, Ability): | Ability to interact with and complete assignments in a manner sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics Exceptional leadership, management, supervision and administrative skills Proven success as a member of an executive team Progressive senior management experience in a large and complex agency Assure constant review of local, state, and federal regulations and ensure compliance with standards Effective at working collaboratively with other agency programs Experience in planning, leading, and managing multiple projects and tasks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills |
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: | An LMSW, MBA or JD is required. A minimum of eight to ten (8-10) years progressive administrative management and direct program experience in a non-profit setting to include executive management is required. Advanced experience with program accountability, human resources and finance a must. Managed Care experience required. After hours response/consultation required as necessary. |
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: | Must be able to drive in the NY metropolitan area. Valid driver’s license. |
