What We Do:We provide supports and services to more than 1,300 people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Arc offers a Preschool; an Upper School for tweens, teens and young adults with autism spectrum disorders; residential offerings; employment and volunteer opportunities; a program designed specifically for adults with autism spectrum disorders; community activities; senior citizen programming; family resources and support; a medical practice; recreational activities and more.
Community Specialists are an important part of our Day Habilitation Program and their responsibilities include:• Coordinate, plan, schedule, and/or implement programs • Provide direct supports and instructional services to people based on their interest and desires • Implement programs that may include a variety of training, teaching procedures, and interventions • May include identifying and securing volunteer, internships, and competitive job placements • Responsible for the safety of each person and provides training to facilitate inclusion into community settings • Community Specialist III is required to write Habilitation Plans and Monthly Progress Notes, and attend planning/ISP meetings as assigned • Based on assignment, responsibilities also may include ensuring delivery of Day Habilitation, Pre-vocational, Pathway to Employment, Supported Employment, and other OPWDD supports • May include AMAP administration of medication to individuals as assigned • Documents and verifies daily data collection and monthly notes • May perform required bus duty functions

What We Require:• High School Diploma or equivalent for entry level (additional education required based on position) • At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred (additional experience may be required depending on position)
