Job Description: | The Compliance Specialist (a Quality Assurance Specialist) is responsible to monitor and identify program corporate compliance issues, assist programs develop and improve the quality of services, as well as making sound recommendations to reduce risk to individuals served, employees, and the agency as a whole. |
Responsibilities: | • Lead Human Rights Review Committee Meetings and generate minutes to program administrators (applicable to QA staff assigned to Developmental Disabilities programs) • Conduct Record/Money Management/Safety Reviews & Physical Plant Inspections • Review Medication Administration • Conduct observations of service recipients at various mealtimes as well as med administration times • Quarterly reviews of programs performance quality improvement (PQI) • Assist with coordination of external audits & participate in surveys led by the State or oversight agency • Perform ongoing Corporate Compliance & Risk Management assessments • Coordinate activities to attain/maintain accreditations as needed • Participate actively in management of incidents including monitoring of related computerized systems • Conduct investigations and make sound recommendations based on factual findings • Manage customer/family satisfaction surveys and write feedback reports • Daily monitoring of State Operated Database Systems • Develop forms/tools/instruments for effective program evaluations/reviews • Provide customized training to program staff for quality improvement • Prepare and make oral presentations using visual aids as needed • Manage Service Utilization Reviews NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Provide staff training on QA and compliance issues including incident reporting/management as needed • Ensure compliance within non-service programs |
Qualifications: | Bachelor’s in social sciences required. Masters preferred. One (1) year of related field experience required. |
Skills: | • Strong written and verbal skills • Strong organization skills • Knowledge of New York State Justice Center, OPWDD, OMH, DOH, OCFS, SED and/or ACS Regulations • Excellent communication skills • Ability to facilitate group meetings • Ability to work collaboratively in a culturally sensitive manner with all levels of staff and facilitate meetings • Excellent computer skills (fluency in Microsoft Office and likes) |
Salary Wage: | $56,000-$60,000 |
