| Job Description: | Job Description: Experienced Accountant (5+ Years) Rockland Professional Services, LLC is a small Accounting and Business Consulting firm located in Pearl River, NY 10965. We are looking for an Accountant with 5+ years of experience to provide accounting and consulting services to our clients. To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience. Communication skills are imperative as this role will require technical accounting discussions with clients as well as various Federal and State tax authorities on behalf of clients. Responsibilities: • Prepare and file various tax returns… o Income taxes (Individual, Partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, Estates and Trusts) o Payroll taxes (e.g., ADP Run, QuickBooks Online Payroll) o Sales taxes (primarily NY and NJ) • Bookkeeping services (QuickBooks Online) o Transaction account categorization o Bank reconciliations o Creating journal entries, including adjusting journal entries o Month-End closing entries • Business formations and dissolutions (e.g., LLCs, Corporations) • Compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations |
| Qualifications: | Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Preferred) • Associates Degree in Accounting • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance Experience: • 5 Years / Tax Seasons (Required) |
| Skills: | Skills: • Specific work experience as an Accountant • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) • Experience with tax software (e.g., TaxAct) • Experience with bookkeeping software (i.e., QuickBooks Online) • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLookups, pivot tables, sorting, filtering) • Experience with Google Workspace (e.g., Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms) • Experience with legal entity structures • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills • Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance or other relevant degree • Licenses and certifications |
