|JOB DESCRIPTION:||The Nathan Kline Research Institute located in Rockland County, NY is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform part-time locksmithing duties. Duties for this position will include, but not be limited to: lock repairs; issuing of new keys; collection of keys from separating employees; maintaining the electronic system for employee key assignments; and assisting in improvements to the lock system.|
|JOB DUTIES:||Under the direction of the Department supervisor, the Locksmith will repair and maintain all locks, related hardware, and equipment for the locksmith operation. In addition, this individual will be responsible for maintaining records of all keys issued and returned.|
|JOB QUALIFICATIONS:||Minimum Requirements and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Five years of full-time experience servicing and repairing locks and related building hardware. Locksmithing credentials preferred. Must be willing and physically able to perform the functions of the position. Other requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: Must possess the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to use standard computer operating systems as required to complete daily assignments. Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems. Must possess the ability to use the tools, machines, equipment and material of the trade or trades to which assigned. Must be able to use basic loading dock tools and equipment. Ability to assist with the planning and lay out of work and diagnose problems. Ability to work well independently. Must have the ability to assess and resolve maintenance issues.|
|Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements:||rospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.|
