| GENERAL FUNCTION: | Provide members and guests with a positive and enjoyable workout experience Must display outstanding customer service, be friendly, helpful and attentive to those working out in the fitness area |
| ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: | High School graduate or equivalent (preferred) Certified in CPR & First Aid Previous experience in a health club/hospitality environment preferred |
| JOB REQUIREMENTS: | Uphold all standards set by the Department of Health regarding the cleaning and sanitizing the equipment between members. Assist members in achieving their fitness goals Know and enforce all YMCA program policies procedures and rules Be able to answer members’ questions, concerns and complaints in a timely and courteous manner Position yourself in the fitness center to greet everyone – ask if you can offer assistance Build relationships with members by learning their names and engaging with them Supervise all fitness activities and provide safe,, effective exercise instruction Conduct orientation and assist members who are unfamiliar with fitness equipment Report to work on time and in uniform (staff shirt, comfortable pants) Follow cleaning procedures daily – Monitor supplies that need to be refilled Respond to and document incidents, accidents and emergencies appropriately Periodically move through the building to gymnasium, cardio room and dance studio Work with fellow staff members and treat them with dignity and respect Restock towels in Cycle room Circulate the laundry/towels as needed |
