Job Description:Pantry Coordinator performs all tasks related to the operation of the Food Pantry to help support our goal of providing healthy food to anyone who is in need, with compassion and dignity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following.• Pick up food and supplies at various sites including the regional food bank locations, Stokes Farm, supermarkets, churches, and other locations. • Monitor and maintain sufficient inventory of food. • Order food and schedule pickup days and times. • Receive, unpack and re-stock cases of food, produce, frozen and refrigerator food items. • Maintain food safety protocols for food storage, inventory products and report information to supervisor. • Handle the food recovery from supermarkets, farms, bakeries, and other food sources and distribute to other pantries or food programs. • Oversee the care and maintenance of vehicles including the food pantry van. • Keep facility and equipment clean and organized. • Light building maintenance, such as changing light bulbs, checking exit signs monthly. • Communicate effectively and work closely with supervisor, CCCSR staff, volunteers, and affiliated agencies Position Type and Expected Hours of work. This is a part time position, averaging 20 hours per week primarily Monday through Friday. Days and hours of work are flexible subject to agreement with Supervisor and coordinated food pick up dates and times. Working conditions and physical demands required: • Moving and lifting boxes, and/or cases of food products 50% of the time, sometimes outside in cold weather. • Work with clients who require consistent and comprehensive support, some under potentially stressful conditions. • Remain in a stationary position at workstation and use of computer approximately 20% of the time.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education and experience required: • High School Diploma/ Equivalency. • Experience working or volunteering in an emergency food program preferred. Skills, Licenses and/or competencies required: • Lifting or moving containers that weigh 50 or more lbs. • Valid and clean driver’s, license from New York or neighboring states. • Must pass Agency Vehicle Usage and Safety Policy requirements. • Good communication, interpersonal and organization skills. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel and/or a database program. • Ability to interact with diverse communities. • Team player and supportive of program and community development projects.

Hourly Wage:$18.00 per hour
