|Position Description:||This position will be heavily involved in supporting and actively contributing to the design, development, maintenance, documentation, and integration/implementation of complex, high-speed assembly equipment utilized in the high-volume production of security seals. The successful candidate will be responsible for system specification, machine tooling, fixture design, and automation programming. Hands-on experience with controls, sensors, and ladder logic programming for integration of automated assembly equipment, electro-mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical design of production fixtures is essential. |Primary Responsibilities:||Will center around programming and system integration with fully automated injection molding production and finishing processes.|
|Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:||The design, development, and implementation of automation projects including initial concept, design requirements, system architecture, test plan, prototype fabrication/testing, and final production release. Integration of new manufacturing steps and updated controls to existing lines, working with suppliers to ensure seamless and timely integration of these new technologies. Working within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents, and develop PM protocols (including spare parts, service intervals, training/guiding maintenance personnel, etc.). Ensuring that customer requirements get translated into professional and accurate Statements of Work and RFQ responses by understanding both product specifics and manufacturing and assembly techniques and variables. Creating detailed documentation including, but not limited to, design input requirements, specifications, design of experiments, acceptance test, validation protocols, detailed drawings and bills of materials, Scope of Work Documents, presentations to management, Statement of Work, and Requests for Quotation. Selecting and specifying equipment components, such as lasers, motors, pneumatics, conveyors, and other part-feeding, finishing, and assembly components. Documenting process, procedures, protocols, and training materials for staff and stakeholders. Evaluating and recommending engineering modifications to equipment or processes to improve product quality, increase line uptime, increase throughput, reduce costs, and enhance plant safety. Brainstorming and working closely with a team of engineers to develop strategies and implement solutions. Staying current with new and evolving relevant technologies. Performing computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) work that requires a strong proficiency in CADD using Solid Works. Performing other duties as assigned.|
|Required Qualifications:||Bachelor's degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level. Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical design, development, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment. Understanding of (and ideally, experience with,) plastic injection molding processes, laser marking, and other automated finishing and assembly techniques and processes. Proficiency in Solid Works 3D modeling. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook).|
