Job Description:MAINTENANCE MECHANIC – FIRST/SECOND SHIFT High speed frozen food manufacturing plant located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, seeks a hands-on mechanic with 3+ years related work experience for a first and/or second shift, to assist in the upkeep of the plant’s equipment in accordance with best practices, diagrams, manuals and manufacturer specifications and ensure that machines and equipment are operating in a safe and effective manner at all times. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: • Follow and adhere to GMP, confined space, LOTO and all safety rules set forth by the company. • Comply with OSHA/USDA/HACCP Safety and Health rules, at all times. • Dismantle devices to gain access and remove defective parts using hand tools, power tools, hoists, ladders and lifts. • Observe equipment’s operations trouble shoot and diagnose problems. • Check boilers and HVAC systems to ensure that they are working correctly each morning, evening and periodically throughout the day • Troubleshoot PLC systems, replace VFDs, terminate electrical connections and control wiring. • Check to ensure that air compressors and refrigeration systems for production are on and working properly before production start-up time each day. • Perform change overs on dough sheeting lines, according to specifications during daily startup. • Check lighting system throughout the plant, weekly; replace bulbs where necessary. • Check equipment components for repair or replacement; clean, lubricate equipment, regularly. • Organize and maintain inventory of all components needed for the maintenance of equipment. • Examine all machines and equipment to ensure that they are consistently, operating within specifications. • Evaluate equipment and machinery performance and recommend improvements to the Engineer or the President. • Set up equipment and conveyors by adjusting to product specification; test set up. • Maintain packaging quality by inspecting in-process and finished production; verify specification, identify any problems and make necessary adjustments. • Clean and lubricate equipment on a regular basis and align equipment parts, if necessary. • Check for machine performance and keep records of repairs and maintenance and refer to these records during inspection and repairs.
Qualifications:High School Diploma Technical Training or equivalent Minimum three (3) years related work experience Knowledge of installation, servicing and repair of Production equipment Ability to read schematics and diagrams

Hourly:$27.00 - $29.00
