Job Description:As a Physical Education Teacher you will perform a variety of non-teaching duties to assist the group Teacher. The Senior Aide will provide a broad range of physical assistance to students (age 5-21), including in their personal needs such as toileting, changing diapers, cleaning, washing, etc. Additionally, the position will perform a variety of duties to set up facilities for the teacher, including arts and crafts projects, special games, and other teaching exercises and instructions planned by the teacher. As a Physical Education Aide, you will assist with the development and implementation of recreational activities for children ages 5 – 21. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Under the guidance of the Director and Assistant Director, you will assist in planning and implementation of recreational activities for children ages 5 – 21. When you are not engaging in this responsibility you will assume the duties of a general teacher aide, below: · Provides a broad range of physical assistance to students (age 5-21) including helping them off and placing them during drop off and pick up; transferring students to and from wheelchairs, adjustment of braces and other special devices and apparel, etc. as may be required due to the difficulties and disabilities of the individual child. May assist teacher by lifting, carrying, walking the students, or supporting them within the group, classroom or learning setting. · Oversees and assists the students in their personal needs, including toileting, changing diapers, cleaning, washing, etc. May help students in developing good personal habits including toilet training, etc. · Performs a variety of duties to set up facilities for the teacher, including arts and crafts projects, special games, and other teaching exercises and instructions planned by the teacher. May carry out other supporting activities such as cutting out designs and making paper displays and other patterns for the students as may be requested by the teacher. · May assist in the oversight of ""circle"" time or other similar activities, working with the students so they are occupied with play, music instruction, or other activities as directed by the teacher designed to keep the students occupied and happy. Periodically, might lead an activity under the supervision of the teacher. · Assists during lunchtime and snack time by helping students with their meals, with feeding or preparing meals, including heating food, etc. Prepares snacks and helps students during meal and snack time. Cleans up areas after meals and snacks, etc. · Performs a broad variety of miscellaneous support functions including photocopying of art work, reports, notes, and/or other materials. May prepare routine records and files, and carry out other related administrative functions.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent plus one year (30 credits) of college completed and/or experience with children/students up to age 21. - Must be funny vaccinated
Hourly Wage:$28.00 per hour
