POSITION SUMMARY:The Physician or Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of quality health care and service in accordance with generally accepted standards of professional practice by providing outpatient services for the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of disease, pain, injury, deformity or physical condition for patients of ARC HealthResources of Rockland, Inc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS• Takes the lead in the development and compliance of quality assurance programs, as well as Clinic policies and procedures, in collaboration with the Director of Medical Practice Management. • Participates in the activities of quality assurance; pharmacy, infection control, safety. • Certify and oversee treatment plans for all patients receiving services through the A16 clinic, including Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Psychology. • Conduct annual physician assessments for all patients in A16 clinic services. • Deliver quality health care through proper diagnosis and treatment of Clinic patients. • Provide adequate and appropriate follow up, documentation and communication with Clinic patients and/or family members while complying with all state and federal regulations. • Assist in the provision of after-hour coverage for Clinic patients and/or family members. • Adhere to the code of ethics of the American Medical Association or applicable professional association as well as the guidelines set forth in the Medical Staff By-Laws. • Is familiar with and adheres to all HIPAA related policies and procedures safeguarding the protected health information (“PHI”) of all patients. • In collaboration with the Director of Medical Practice Management and the Managing Director of Clinical Services; takes the lead in promoting the overall growth of the practice as it relates to patient volume and necessary specialty services while maintaining the highest quality standards. • Provides clinical and administrative oversight of all medical personnel. Supervises, evaluates, disciplines, hires and terminates the physicians and nurses in the medical practice. Conducts team meetings and clinical case review discussions on a regular basis.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education: M.D., M.S.N., or equivalent. Physician or Nurse Practitioner licensed by and currently registered with the New York State Education Department, specializing in Family Practice. Minimum Experience: Qualified by training and experience to provide primary medical care and oversight to the practice. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a physician required.
