Job Description:Caribbean Food Delights (CFD), a privately owned & operated company, is the leading manufacturer of Jamaican Style Patties: beef, chicken and vegetable. This state-of -the-art facility is SQF certified. We are looking for/seeking a motivated, results-driven, Quality Control Technician to join our team on the second shift and assist in overseeing the shift’s production process to eliminate specific problems and ensure that items produced adhere to established quality standards; assist in the implementation of quality control programs and procedures.
Responsibilities:• Perform pre-operational duties prior to the start of production, document observations and take corrective actions; prepare QC documents for the shift. • Perform daily QA walk-throughs, enforce cGMP policy in the facility and set example by practicing cGMP procedures at all times. • Check lot code for each line prior to the start of production each day to ensure correct coding for traceability. • Perform visual and sensory evaluation of finished goods at various times during production, perform ATP, allergy tests, environmental swabbing for bacteria and pathogens, etc. • Check products – raw and baked - every hour, check product filling weight every hour during production. • Monitor CCP for cooking, chilling and baking as per HACCP, monitor sanitary condition during operation and document observation – SSOP-02, monitor proper product handling, monitor GMP and SSOP practices and take corrective action and preventive action when deviations occur in CCP. • Check cleanliness of equipment and facility at the end of work shift. • Inspect incoming raw materials, review COAS and COCs as required. • Initiate and complete the ‘hold’ process for non-conforming products, raw materials and other materials as required, follow-up and complete disposition when determined. • Assist with regulatory and independent inspections and audits. • Support food safety program, quality standards and legality of products manufactured in the facility • Complete accurate and timely documentation and review of all necessary processes.
Qualifications:Associate’s Degree in Biology, Food Technology, Food Science or Equivalent Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Data Entry software Minimum one (1) year’s work- related experience in Food Manufacturing Industry Proficiency in working knowledge of HACCP, SSOP and GMPs Demonstrated technical competence Good communication and customer service skills
